This fireplace was pretty before we started our make over but it just wasn't what my client wanted.

She felt it was basic and massive and really didn't have any life to it. She and her husband both hated it from the minute they moved into their townhouse.

She purchased this piece at an antique salvage store and asked if we could integrate it into our new concept.

And this is what we came up with! A classic, timeless look that felt a bit softer and definitely updated.

Her salvaged piece looks beautiful as her new mantle.
We still have carrara marble coming for the surround and I will show that the minute we have it installed.

The ship lap looks so pretty above and coming up the sides. She is thrilled!
Painting her salvaged piece really makes the details stand out.

Don't be afraid to change the way your fireplace looks if it's looking dated. It will totally transform the room and you'll be happy to make it a focal point again. This is probably the fourth or fifth re do this year and we've got a few more lined up. Easy on the budget and a great room changer.
Have a blessed week!
