I love cooking, baking and entertaining. So when I get the chance to all 3 it's an exciting day for me. I love to make my guests feel that they are really special and that I'm glad that they are there. So this last week when we had one day with the temps in the 50's and rain I was in my glory to cook and bake. I was suppose to walk with a friend that evening but the rain had us changing plans and I took the opportunity to cook for her instead. And every great place setting begins with the place mat. The Dollar Store place mat to be exact. They have other really cute fall place mat's that I'll show you soon.
I always use white dishes. They let the food stand out and the table doesn't look too busy,
The Dollar Store also has an array of great seasonal napkins to compliment your place settings. Some times I fold the napkin really cool and put it in the water glass and sometimes I lay it across the plate.
While I made the veggie soup from scratch, I bought the soft molasses cookies from the bakery. And the loaf of bread, not pictured, was Rhodes frozen that rose all day and baked right before dinner.
The soup was wonderful. Here's to another season beginning where comfort comes in a pot! Start gathering those recipes.
