Autumn Decorating and Cooking with White Pumpkins

Autumn Decorating and Cooking with White Pumpkins

I love orange pumpkins just as much as the next person or maybe even a little more. But there's something so pretty about a white pumpkin.
Lumina pumpkins are mid-sized, with white to cream colored skin and broad ribbing. They have a classic round and slightly squat pumpkin shape and their flesh is bright orange with a sweet pumpkin flavor.
Even though these naturally white orbs may look different than the typical Jack-O-Lantern, they are quite similar.  White pumpkins are also grown
just like the orange ones
They're great for carving because their skin is not quite as thick as an orange pumpkin's.
They are even better for painting. White pumpkins provide great contrast in fall gourd and pumpkin displays.
White pumpkin can be substituted for orange pumpkin in many recipes, whether you're baking pumpkin pie or concocting a pumpkin soup. The satiny texture and sweet pumpkin taste of the Lumina variety is excellent for baking. Try using a hollowed out white pumpkin as an attractive serving tureen.
So what do you think about decorating or cooking with white pumpkins? Yes or no?
