It's that time of the year when you really start feeling like you need to get your hands back in the dirt. Well around here were frozen solid for about another 2 1/2 months. Man, that sounds like a looooong time away.
So while I'm impatiently waiting for the snow to melt and the frost to come out of the ground I thought right now would be a perfect time to do some transplanting. Off to one of my favorite places to pass a few hours, Tonkadale Greenhouses. And my other favorite place is Tangletown Gardens, I love both of these spots for so many reasons but the first 2 are for their knowledgeable staff and the variety I have to choose from. Oh and the music they play and the smell of damp dirt and the warmth...
I could go on..

I always find something there I "need". On this particular outing I found 3 of those such items.

Look how happy they are to be in a cool pot and hanging out in a sunny window.

This sweetie was one of my mothers so I am trying to do the very best with all of the plants that were her's.
It was root bound and has some funky stuff going on with it's leaves so I thought I'd give this one a little pick-me-up.

Looking a little upset here but I think it's going to be ok.

I know, right?! Lookin good.

This ivy was in a tiny metal planter that it came in. I transplanted into a bigger pot and I think its much happier.

Spring will be here before we know it. I'm counting on it.
