Last weekend I took my clients out to select some pieces for their home office update. They have a really large, off the beaten path home office that has a 2 story stone fireplace. This was just our selection phase of the mantel, to update the fireplace, newel posts and top rail to replace an old half wall on the stairs. What a great adventure we had. These rough mantels are butternut. They look absolutely gorgeous after they've been cleaned up a bit.
Our newel posts were discovered in this pile.
And our top rails will come from this. Stay tuned for more pictures of this great project I'm starting in a couple weeks!
